  ARTIST STATEMENT

The art of Andrea Hano comes from within—from the universe that exists within us all, that unites us all.  Her artistic endeavor is to uplift the viewer to a greater expression of joy, prosperity and health.  Her art begins when she enters a peaceful joyful state and opens the door to her inner studio where creative energy flows freely.  Before each painting she feels an affinity with certain colors.  Applying principles and technique, Andrea joins in oneness with the colors, rhythm and brushstrokes that passionately dance around the canvas in an expressionistic abstract style.  Each painting is made allowing freedom of the inner spirit to be expressed.  Often she paints to music.  Other times she paints in a stream of thoughts and feelings where peace, harmony, joy, healing and wholeness abide.  Always there is purpose.  Meaning emerges when the painting is completed.

With an open heart the viewer can journey into the painting and see images symbolic for growth and development, ascertain concepts and principles, and receive an uplifting that can benefit the life of the individual.  Andrea’s paintings manifest from the universe that unites humanity and gives forth its energy for a life of freedom and joy.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Born in New Mexico, raised in California, now residing in Southeast Louisiana, Andrea is highly inspired by the brilliant colors of the natural environment.  Studies in California and travels throughout Mexico emphasizing culture, music and art add to her portfolio of experience.  Incorporating art throughout the curriculum, Andrea taught all subjects including visual and performing arts at the K-8 level.  She has participated in various art/cultural workshops, sessions and community events and is a member of several art associations.  Often her paintings are described as touching the soul with a sense of peace, harmony and joy.  The artwork of Andrea Hano is a therapeutic motivation in shows, exhibitions, businesses and collections.
